An old story from the Velip community of Goa, perhaps the first book written by members of this subaltern group. It is a folk tale of theirs, narrated here in Konkani (in the version which the community itself speaks, so might come across as 'non-standard' at times). There is also an English version of the same, see alongside.

Collated through the work of Vithai Zaraunkar and others under the Government of India scheme called Safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage of India, coming under the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. This project has benefited greatly from the contributions of many people, and special help in carrying out this work was given by Prof. Alito Siqueira and Salil Chaturvedi. While working in various villages, the team leader (Vithai Zaraunkar) also acknowledges the heap and tremendous support received from local people, including Sagar Zaraunkar, Pankaj Zaraunkar, Sunil Gaonkar, Pandu Velip, Sangeeta Velip, and Manoj Velip.” Text based on the blurb.

This is a slim, all-colour book in slightly large (square) size.
